Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester was founded in 1982 by Pakachoag Church in Auburn as Pakachoag Community Music School. The School was created in response to cutbacks in funding for public school music programs as an outreach mission. Programming included music lessons, early childhood music classes and musical theater programming, just as it does today.
In 1989, the school became independently incorporated and convened its own Board of Directors. The school remained housed in the Pakachoag Church building through 2017.
In 2018, prompted by a desire for the stability provided by a multi-year lease, the School moved to Worcester. We rent dedicated space for school operations on the 2nd and 3rd floors of All Saints Church, in proximity of Worcester’s theater district.
Satellite programming in a number of communities allows the School to extend its reach.

We offer lessons Monday through Saturday at any time of the day, depending on the desired teacher’s availability. Lessons during the week most commonly begin around 2:00 PM and end around 7:00 PM. Lessons on Saturday are most commonly held in the morning and early afternoon. However, we do have teachers that offer weekday lessons in the morning and teach until 7:45 PM.

Pakachoag requires a deposit for the first 8 weeks of lessons as a commitment to registering. After the first month, if you opted for monthly payments, you will be charged at the beginning of each month.

Make-up lessons, credits, or refunds are not provided if a student misses their lesson. Some teachers may wish to provide flexibility, discussed and formalized on a case-by-case basis, no fewer than 24 hours in advance.
Flipping lessons to remote is regular practice if either party cannot attend in-person but are otherwise available.
If there are availability constraints for certain weeks, the School can adjust the number of lessons that will be held.
